dj poolboi is the moniker of Austin Texas’ resident Adam Ansley. In 2017 Ansley started quietly releasing lo-fi house music under the moniker as a side project. An upload of his track “we can be happy on the popular EELF Youtube channel began to pick up viral tracktion and attention. Channelling his own struggles Ansley crafted a unique form of electronic music creating emotional melodic house and instrumental songs mixing elation and nostalgia with melancholy. Residing in the same vein of underground house as Ross From Friends and Baltra while building on the experimental dance music of trailblazers such as Radiohead, Four Tet, Caribou and Jamie XX his music found its own niche taking flight online.
