Today, Django Django release “Year of the Snake,” the fourth single to be taken from their forthcoming album Doveland – out November 6 via Clouds Hill (pre-order here). The quartet also announce a UK and European headline tour for February/March 2027 (full details below). Pre-sale launches on Wednesday 21st with a general sale to follow on Friday 23rd.

Around the release of the album the band will play four intimate shows in independent record stores in London, Edinburgh, Liverpool, and Bury.

Playing with rhythm and atmospherics “Year of the Snake” slithers a winding path. Sweeping strings ornament a moody groove, atop which vocalist Vincent Neff ruminates on acceptance and perseverance.

As Dave explains:  “Year of the snake was written after the majority of Doveland was done and me and Vinny decided to head up to the highlands of Scotland to keep writing.  It’s a personal track that came out of losing my sister and trying to battle through darkness to find light. It’s about embracing that darkness and embracing the night and staying strong enough to ride it out until the new dawn comes.”

It follows the previously released singles “Feel Alright,” “Dirty Hotel Blues” and “Cameos,” offering another glimpse into an album that moves between the personal and the surreal, with the band drawing on themes of memory, isolation, loss and the search for somewhere else.

Doveland was produced during extended sessions in the German countryside and highlands of Scotland, and marks Django Django’s most cohesive and emotionally resonant album to date.
