“Her thoughtful dreamy vocals drift across a grand piano providing both pretty and wistful songs with emotional wallop“ The Guardian

“Rooted in the past from the start the music of Alela Diane has always had a touch of age-old mettle and awe“  The Line of Best Fit

“Immaculately beautiful indie-folk songs” – Paste Magazine

“Sophisticated, understated songs delivered in a cool, authoritative voice, rich with clarity, narrative detail, and timeless melancholy.” The Independent

Her career began in 2004 with the DIY release of her debut album, The Pirate’s Gospel, which quickly earned critical acclaim and helped establish her as a key voice in the indie folk revival. Over the years she has toured alongside fellow artists such as Iron & Wine, Fleet Foxes, Joanna Newsom, and The Decemberists.

Across a two-decade career, Diane has cultivated a devoted international following throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States. She has continually connected with audiences through new releases, extensive touring, and festival appearances at renowned events including Noise Pop, End of the Road, Green Man, Bergenfest, Pickathon, and Newport Folk Festival.

With a fresh new band and an eager fan base awaiting her return, Alela Diane is stepping back onto the road with new music and an exciting renewed sound.
