Booka Shade is a German house duo formed by Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier, hailing from Frankfurt. Pioneers in electronic music, they gained global acclaim with their 2005 breakout EPs “Mandarine Girl” and “Body Language” (with M.A.N.D.Y.), the latter becoming an Ibiza anthem. Founders of the influential Get Physical Music label in 2002, they’ve released ten studio albums, including Memento (2004), Movements (2006), and For Real (2025). Known for innovative live shows, they’ve headlined festivals like Coachella and Glastonbury, opened for acts like Depeche Mode, and earned a Grammy nomination for their immersive audio work. Their Blaufield Music label, launched in 2013, showcases their genre-blending sound and emerging talent.
