BIO

French 79, the solo electronic music project of Marseille-based Simon Henner, emerged in 2014 not just as a local phenomenon but as an artist whose sound quickly resonated on an international level. With a background rich in music production and collaboration, Henner has worked with notable acts like Kid Francescoli and Nasser before branching out into his own musical universe.

His debut album “Olympic” in 2016 introduced the world to a blend of contemplative electronics and pop sensibilities, highlighted by tracks like “Hometown” and “Diamond Veins.” His latest works, including the album “TEENAGERS,” further explore his roots in the French Touch, drawing from the legacy of artists like Air and Daft Punk but pushing into new sonic realms with every release.

French 79’s music is not just heard; it’s felt, creating a space where listeners can lose themselves in the layers of synths and the narratives woven through his tracks. His performances are more than concerts; they are experiences, where each song constructs a new emotional landscape, engaging both the mind and the senses.

As he prepares for his debut performance in Ireland at The Button Factory, Irish audiences are in for a treat with an artist who’s not just playing music but is on a mission to evoke and celebrate the essence of youth, memory, and the universal connection through sound.
