Jitwam, born in Assam, Northeast India, is a Sydney-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, DJ, and singer whose nomadic life—spanning formative years in New Zealand and Australia, stints in Thai monasteries, South African orphanages, and gritty London apartments—has shaped his genre-blending sound. Drawing from psychedelic soul, neo-soul, house, R&B, hip-hop, jazz, and global influences, he crafts warm, introspective tracks that fuse electronic grooves with live instrumentation and incisive social commentary. A co-founder of the influential label The Jazz Diaries, which champions boundary-pushing artists, Jitwam debuted with the 2013 EP TJD001 and rose to prominence after Moodymann featured his track on the iconic DJ-Kicks mix. His discography includes acclaimed albums like ज़ितम सिहँ (2017), Honeycomb (2019), and Third (2022), alongside EPs such as Purple(2018) and Sun After Rain (2020, with Folamour). Now a mainstay in the underground scene, he continues to explore themes of unity and cultural identity while pushing the South Asian wave in electronic music.
