Michael Head ( is an English musician,most famous as the lead singer and songwriter for The Pale Fountains, Shack and The Strands.Though neither band achieved mainstream success, they have a strong following and NME have described him as “a lost genius and among the most gifted British songwriters of his generation”.

On 20 October 2017 Michael Head released a new album, Adiós Señor Pussycat, using the moniker
Michael Head & The Red Elastic Band. It had been 11 years since Michael Head released his last album (Shack’s ‘On the Corner of Miles and Gil’). According to Metacritic this album was released to “universal acclaim”.
